Job Summary
The Opportunity: Patient Care Associate | Orthopedics-White 6White 6 is a 30-bed unit with the clinical specialty being orthopedics and Oral Maxillofacial/Medical. The population of patients includes elective total joint replacement, trauma, and orthopedic oncology.

What are we looking for
The Patient Care Associate (PCA) will assist the RNs in White 6 with a variety of functions including phlebotomy and EKGs, transport patients, check rooms and equipment, assist patients with dressing and feeding and some clerical functions. Our Patient Care Associate team prides themselves in responding to patient requests in a timely manner, safeguarding patient confidentiality, monitoring patient safety, and always communicating in a respectful manner.

Skills
- Effective customer service orientation and the ability to interact with diverse groups of patients, staff and providers.
- Demonstrated ability to solve basic patient and practice problems using a combination of strong interpersonal and communication skills, attention to detail and superior organizational skills.
- Ability to lift and transport patients, using the appropriate physical technique, in a safe manner for the patient and self.
· Preferred: Must have recent experience, and/or training, in clinical patient care. · Required: Licensed, certified or enrolled student in a Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant, Mental Health Technician, or EMT accredited program, at the time of hire, OR Candidate enrolled in a Nursing program Pre-Med or PA undergraduate program with at least one semester of patient care rotations completed at time of hire.
