The Patient Care Assistant (PCA) I supports patient care by ensuring comfort and safety, following the model of care at TCH, which emphasizes collaboration between patients, families, and healthcare teams. Care is culturally sensitive and age-appropriate, and all duties are delegated by a Registered Nurse according to Ohio Board of Nursing guidelines.
Clinical: Perform clinical tasks assigned by the RN, adhering to Ohio Board of Nursing delegation guidelines. Maintain patient confidentiality.
Leadership & Accountability: Demonstrate key behavioral competencies such as effective communication, adaptability, teamwork, and personal accountability.
Environment and Safety: Ensure patient and unit safety.
Comfort: Provide patient comfort and hygiene, documenting according to policy.
Communication: Orient patients and families to the hospital environment and facilitate communication throughout the hospitalization process
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
EDUCATION: High School Diploma required
YEARS OF EXPERIENCE: 0 - 1 Years of Experience Required.
LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS: AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers Required
