Job Description
Day to Day:
Obtain insurance coverage and demographic info before treatment.
Educate patients on insurance benefits, co-pays, deductibles, and out-of-pocket costs.
Assess financial ability and discuss payment arrangements.
Explain financial assistance programs and help complete forms.
Complete Patient Cost Estimate forms based on diagnosis and coverage.
Prepare reimbursement and liability forms for patient signature; send to billing.
Request insurance pre-authorizations or referral codes from Clinical Reviewer.
Review patient account balances and flag patients for front desk follow-up.
Ensure co-pay amounts are correctly entered or communicated to front desk.
Verify and update insurance and demographics at each visit per SOPs.
Stay current on financial aid programs and build relationships with providers.
Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA, state, and federal guidelines.

Skills and Requirements
Must Haves:
Strong understanding of insurance coverage, benefits, and terminology.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) and healthcare systems.
Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
Completion of required e-learning courses within 90 days of hire. null
