Patient Assistance Counselor II

Position Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Patient Assistance Counselor II (PAC) to support patients who are uninsured, underinsured, or facing high out-of-pocket medical and prescription costs. The PAC will provide high-quality customer service to patients and healthcare providers, helping them navigate the Patient Assistance Program for specialty medications.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Review and process patient applications for assistance programs.
+ Conduct insurance investigations and assess financial documentation.
+ Communicate outcomes to patients and healthcare providers.
+ Maintain HIPAA compliance and a professional service image at all times.
Required Qualifications:
+ 5+ years of experience in insurance verification and call center environments.
+ Strong understanding of commercial and government insurance programs, billing, reimbursement, prior authorizations, appeals, and specialty pharmacy operations.
+ High school diploma required.
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
+ Detail-oriented with strong technical and organizational skills.
+ Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
+ Empathy and professionalism in handling sensitive patient situations.
Work Environment:
+ Fully remote; must work from a secure, private location (no public spaces).
+ Must have a dedicated desk setup and be able to hardwire equipment.
+ Camera must be on during all meetings and trainings.
+ Training schedule: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM CST for 6–10 weeks.
+ Post-training shifts assigned based on business needs (between 7 AM – 7 PM CST).
+ No time-off requests approved during training.

+ Professional appearance and dress code daily.
+ Reliable high-speed internet connection.
+ Strict adherence to attendance policies.
+ HIPAA-compliant work environment (2 privacy violations will result in termination).
+ All equipment provided.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $23.80/hr.
