Our hospital offers a range of medical services designed to help you feel whole and live your best, healthiest life. **The role you'll contribute:** The Patient Accounts Specialist is responsible for duties specific to the assigned department that supports the functions of the Revenue Cycle for AdventHealth Shawnee Mission. Assist in meeting departmental goals in accordance to the hospital strategic plan. Patient Accounts Specialist will foster a patient-focused environment in the department; maintaining acceptable standards of service and providing assistance in creating a vision for the area which reflects the vision and values of Shawnee Mission Health. **The value you'll bring to the team:** + Meet and exceed daily registration productivity + Meet and exceed upfront cash collection goals + Maintain a 98% RQA score each month + Remain current on insurance knowledge and changes + Work cooperatively within work group and with service lines Qualifications **The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed:** + High school diploma or equivalent + Ability to stand for up to 4 hours at a time + Medical terminology knowledge – preferred + Experience in a Patient Access setting or as a patient accounts specialist – preferred This facility is an equal opportunity employer and complies with federal, state and local anti-discrimination laws, regulations and ordinances.
