Description
We are looking for a detail-oriented Patient Access Specialist in Nashua, New Hampshire. In this Contract-to-Permanent role, you will play a key role in ensuring patients receive seamless admissions and access services while adhering to organizational policies and regulatory guidelines. Your primary focus will be on delivering exceptional customer service, maintaining accurate records, and supporting billing processes for a positive patient experience.
Responsibilities:
• Accurately assign medical record numbers (MRNs) and perform compliance checks to ensure proper documentation and adherence to regulations.
• Provide patients with clear instructions and collect insurance information while maintaining a high level of customer service.
• Handle pre-registration tasks, including inbound and outbound calls to collect demographic, insurance, and financial details, as well as payment collection for past due balances.
• Explain treatment consent forms, obtain required signatures, and distribute relevant patient education materials such as Medicare and Tricare notices.
• Verify insurance eligibility, enter benefit data into systems, and ensure a smooth billing process to support clean claims.
• Conduct medical necessity screenings for Medicare patients using appropriate tools and distribute necessary forms to inform them of potential non-payment.
• Audit patient accounts for accuracy, ensure completion of required forms, and provide statistical data to leadership for quality assurance.
• Utilize reporting systems to identify and correct account discrepancies across various departments and facilities.
• Meet assigned point-of-service collection goals and maintain compliance with organizational standards.
Requirements
• Proven experience in customer service, data entry, or administrative roles.
• Familiarity with collections processes and handling financial transactions.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex information clearly to patients and guardians.
• Proficiency in using auditing and reporting systems to ensure account accuracy.
• Comfortable working within regulatory guidelines and organizational policies.
• Attention to detail and ability to handle sensitive patient information with professionalism.
• Availability to work the shift schedule required: 1st week: Sun 7am-3pm. Mon, Wed, Thu, Fri 10:30am-7pm. 2nd week: Mon-Fri 10:30am-7pm
