Patient Access Coordinator - ER
**Location:** Avera McKennan Hospital **Worker Type:** Regular **Work Shift:** Rotating days/evenings/nights/weekends/holidays (United States of America) **Pay Range:** _The pay range for this position is listed below. Work where you matter.** **A Brief Overview** Responsible to assist the leader to plan, organize, educate and implement activities related to the Patient Access core operations. The Coordinator has primary day-to- day responsibility of assuring workflow turnaround times are met, daily tracking of workflow, communication to the team, staff scheduling coordination, and special projects. The coordinator serves as a key liaison amongst the team. **What you will do** + Effectively coordinate staff orientation, in-services, competencies, production, timeliness, quality, customer service, and efficiencies of Admission and Preadmission Representatives in areas of responsibilities. + Coordinates scheduling process and maintains appropriate staffing levels to maximize department efficiency. + Demonstrates good communication, continual education updates, and cooperative working relationship with all departments, co-workers and promotes a positive work environment. + Provides timely information to the Supervisor/Manager regarding the Patient Facing processes, staffing, customer service (all departments, patients and co-workers). + Monitors performance of staff, detects unsatisfactory trends/performance and deficiencies. Discusses needed performance improvement to staff as needed. Reports information to the Supervisor/Manager. + Provides input and assists in development of operational policies and procedures and assists in disseminating information to staff. Developing, training and retaining employees; planning, assigning and leading work; rewarding and coaching employees. + Ensures day-to-day workflow processes; identify workflow problems and recommend alternative solutions to problems. Monitors the quality and efficiency of the Patient Facing processes through auditing and key metrics. **Essential Qualifications** The individual must be able to work the hours specified.
