The Cornille laboratory in the Division of Science at New York University Abu Dhabi seeks to recruit a research assistant. The successful applicant will conduct population epigenomics analyses on plants. The main foci of these analyses will be: + The identification of molecules, genes, and epigenomic features that have evolved adaptively or play a role in the response to stress. + The associated microbiomes involved. The successful applicant will have the chance to develop an independent research project aligned with the lab's focus on molecular biology and/or evolutionary genomics. This position is supervised by Dr. Amandine Cornille Successful candidates must possess a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Biology. Substantial experience in one or more of the following areas is highly desired: + Conduct techniques in molecular biology by adapting experimental conditions (apply health and safety rules, extract and sequence DNA and RNA). + Execute fundamental statistical analyses, with some skills in bioinformatics analysis being a plus. + Excellent communication skills in English and the ability to work in multidisciplinary teams, as well as demonstrate scientific creativity, are essential.
