Responsibilities POSITION SUMMARY We’re looking for a detail-oriented and safety-focused Pasteurizer Operator to join our team! In this critical role, you’ll ensure our liquid egg products meet the highest standards for food safety and quality. You’ll be responsible for operating and monitoring the pasteurization process, performing routine checks, and maintaining compliance with USDA and company standards. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Take personal responsibility for maintaining a safe and healthy workplace for all team members. Follow all safety policies and procedures, and integrate safety into every task. Ensure full compliance with USDA regulations and company standards. Program and manage the flow of egg product into the pasteurizer. Coordinate pasteurizer operations with USDA and restart equipment upon authorization. Monitor temperature gauges and adjust settings to maintain optimal pasteurization. Watch for continuous product flow and resolve any blockages or interruptions. Complete required documentation for HACCP and other routine quality checks. Apply a science-based understanding of HACCP and pasteurization to troubleshoot effectively. Collect product samples for lab testing and verify they meet customer specifications. Communicate with other departments to coordinate product progression and flow. Adjust product flow as needed and troubleshoot any operational issues. Perform Clean-in-Place (CIP) procedures and manage product transitions. Connect tankers, move pumps, and adjust piping as required. Cross-train in Tanker Bay operations and support OPTI Breaker functionality. Assist with mid-shift cleanup and remove egg shells from vats during production. Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), HACCP guidelines, and maintain sanitary conditions to support SQF certification. Report any concerns that may impact food safety, product quality, or personnel safety. Maintain a positive and professional work environment through effective communication and teamwork. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED Completion of a one-year certificate program from a college or technical school, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and hands-on experience. PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) Certification Valid Driver’s License Additional Skills and Abilities We’re looking for someone who brings more than just technical know-how. The ideal candidate will also have: A self-motivated attitude and strong communication skills Solid reading, writing, and verbal communication abilities Basic computer proficiency Mechanical aptitude, especially with pumps and valves Basic math skills for accurate measurements and documentation Exceptional attention to detail Ability to follow standardized procedures and safety protocols Comfort working indoors in a damp environment Commitment to wearing proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and safety regulations Ability to operate specialized equipment and tools as needed A combination of education and experience that enables successful performance of essential job duties Note: This job description outlines the general responsibilities and qualifications for the role.
