The Parts Specialist I provides counter service to Rochester Transit employees who need parts/equipment to perform their jobs. The Parts Specialist I will assist with inventory control, data entry in inventory systems and customer service.

 

The hourly pay rate is $19.00 - $22.00/hr.

Responsibilities

Provide quality customer service to include but not limited to the following:

Attention to detailReview, familiarize with and adhere to Policy and Procedures Manual.Review, familiarize with and adhere to MANCON’s SOPs and Safety Manual.Meet and greet customersReview supplied requisition forms to ensure they are properly completed (Signatures, timestamps, part numbers, descriptions and quantities)Answer questions regarding availability of partsAsk appropriate questions to ensure correct parts are researched and providedInform customers when requested parts are availableMaintain records of inventory, purchases, sales

  

Data Entry Requirements

Assist in generating invoices for customer requisitions in the inventory systemAssist in entry of vendor receiving documents in the inventory system

 

Inventory Management Requirements

Assist in performing weekly inventory cycle countsAssist in performing counts during Wall to Wall inventories at siteIdentify and evaluate multiple suppliers to source parts at the best price-to-quality ratio.

 

Other Requirements

Follow established guidelines for vehicle and equipment maintenanceProvide 24 hour support at the RGRTA location during emergenciesAssist with inventory research projects as requestedAdhere to required proceduresParticipate in the SCM continuing training programAssist with Store Manager and Store Supervisor duties as assigned Qualifications 1 year computer experience24-hour availability1 year experience with auto or heavy duty truck parts Preferred Qualifications

 

Inventory experienceP1 or P2 ASE certificationObtain and maintain a forklift license Physical Requirements Medium work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Essential Requirements Driving, Lifting, Reaching, Sitting, Standing, Stooping, Walking Physical Requirements Other

Work is mostly performed in storerooms and warehouses which may have uncontrolled temperatures and dirt/dust/damp conditions. Work is also performed in vehicles traveling to sites.
