Parts Purchasing Specialist
**Job Description** **General Purpose:** Contact vendors to purchase essential supplies and MRO parts needed to keep company machines running proficiently. Establish and keep an organized method of sorting parts and materials in bins or designated area. **Job Duties and Responsibilities:** + Order materials, supplies, and services for the plant + Maintain accurate records on all ordering and track expenses for maintenance budget reporting + Coordinate purchasing activities with other departments to maintain inventory at planned levels + Prepare reviews and track orders through the purchasing process + Input and maintain orders placed including inventory purchase orders, price changes, and order updates + Follow up on delivery to ensure efficient stock of materials, parts, and supplies for plant success + Pick up parts as needed from local vendors + Handle all internal/external UPS/FedEx and receiving of parts + Maintain a clean, organized, and safe parts room + Maintain office supplies, equipment, and budget expense control + Maintain safe working conditions for employees and compliance with all state and federal regulations regarding health and safety issues + Dedicate effort to safety as we expect every employee to leave work in the same condition as they arrive + Follow all DFA good manufacturing practices (GMP) and work in a manner consistent with all corporate regulatory, food safety, quality, and sanitation requirements + Exhibit the values and ethics of Dairy Farmers of America through honesty, discretion, and sound judgment + Adhere to all DFA Quality, Safety and GMP policies and procedures and report any nonconformity + Attend required training, including but not limited to, Safety, GMP, Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP), and Safe Quality Foods (SQF) + The requirements herein are intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by employee, but is not a complete list of responsibilities, duties, and skills required. Other duties may be assigned as required. **Requirements** **Minimum Requirements:** **_Education and Experience_** + High School Diploma/GED preferred + An understanding of what a MRP system is + Previous experience with Purchase Orders is strongly preferred. + Previous experience using SAP for purchasing is required. + Requires general understanding of what internal and supplier lead times are. + Previous experience of how to negotiate favorable prices and services are required. **_Knowledge, Skills and Abilities_** + Basic knowledge of computer operation, word processing and other related software applications + Good math aptitude, attention to detail, and ability to handle multiple situations at one time + Must be able to type a minimum of 30 WPM + Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness; monitor own work to ensure quality + Excellent organizational and planning skills + Ability to work with little or no supervision + Must be able to work cooperatively with others and possess excellent communication skills both written and verbal. + Must be able to read, write and speak English An Equal Opportunity Employer including Disabled/Veterans **Pay Range** $22.00 - $28.00/hour
