Partner Incentives Controller
The Partner Incentives Controllership team in Corporate Accounting is hiring a controller to support Global Partner Solutions (GPS) incentives. Our team provides controllership services for partner incentives and investments supporting all lines of Microsoft business across the world. Our goal is to enable strategic business objectives through financial execution excellence and to ensure compliance is at the forefront of everything we do. GPS designs and delivers earning opportunities to partners who achieve strategic outcomes for Microsoft. Through structured incentives, campaigns, frameworks, and strategic custom deals, the incentives portfolio rewards committed partners who meet customer needs across our six cloud solution areas and the customer lifecycle. In this Partner Incentives Controller role, you will be responsible for ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant accounting and controllership activities within the Partner Investments space, which includes campaigns, frameworks, activities & workshops and strategic custom deals. The Partner Incentives Controller duties will encompass assessing and launching investments, engaging in risk assessment and audit readiness, ensuring the completion and accuracy of incentive models, overseeing the effectiveness of financial controls, and participating in monthly close processes. This opportunity will allow you to collaborate with Finance, Operations and Engineering teams, as well as broad business engagement & impact across products, solution areas, geographies and customer segments. In alignment with our Microsoft values, we are committed to cultivating an inclusive work environment for all employees to positively impact our culture every day **Responsibilities** + Business Partnership: Build trusted relationships with teams designing programs, business finance teams modeling financial feasibility, engineering teams developing investment capabilities, and operations teams executing partner payments. + Identify and influence opportunities for process improvement. + Financial Close, Reporting & Analysis: Conduct monthly close activities including posting journal entries, analyzing key financial results, and variance analysis (actual vs budget/forecast). + Controls & Compliance: Review and monitor controls to ensure they are designed and functioning effectively in collaboration with compliance teams. + Embody our culture and values **Qualifications** **Required/Minimum Qualifications** + Master's Degree in Business, Accounting /Finance, or related field AND 1+ year(s) accounting or finance experience OR Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting /Finance, or related field AND 2+ years accounting or finance experience + OR equivalent experience + 1+ year(s) of experience applying Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance requirements, or other regulatory accounting standards in a professional setting **Preferred/Additional Qualifications** + Ability to work well in matrixed organization and influence through ambiguity + Professional accounting certification such as CPA or equivalent + Previous experience in Partner Incentives, Deal Desk, or Internal Audit or Compliance SAP and PowerBI Accounting IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $76,800 - $151,900 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $100,800 - $168,000 per year.
