Description We are looking for an experienced Energy Tax Partner to join a prestigious international law firm in Washington, District of Columbia. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced and detail-oriented individual who thrives in a dynamic environment and is eager to contribute to the growth of a rapidly expanding Energy Practice Group. The role will focus on providing expert guidance on tax matters related to energy projects across renewable, fossil, nuclear, and infrastructure sectors. Responsibilities: • Deliver comprehensive tax advice for energy project financing, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations. • Analyze and interpret recent federal energy legislation to provide strategic insights to clients. • Collaborate with colleagues and clients to structure and execute energy-related transactions. • Offer thought leadership on energy tax policy and advise on emerging trends in the industry. • Mentor associates at the entry level, fostering growth and enhancing the team’s expertise. • Contribute to the firm’s business development efforts, including expanding client relationships and supporting growth strategies. • Maintain strong partnerships with clients, delivering high-level service and customized solutions. • Stay updated on industry developments to provide timely and accurate guidance. Requirements • Significant experience at the partner level specializing in energy tax. • Deep knowledge of federal and state energy tax regulations and their application. • Preferred portable book of business with a minimum value of $1.5M, though subject matter experts without such a book will also be considered. • Proven ability to build and maintain strong client relationships. • Admission to the bar in the jurisdiction of the office location. • Expertise in energy-related investment strategies, equity derivatives, and distributed energy resources. • Familiarity with clean energy initiatives and federal energy policies. • Exceptional communication and leadership skills to guide teams and clients effectively.
