Vacancy Announcement Position Information Campus Title Part-Time Reference Librarian Department Milne Library Position Summary Milne Library at SUNY Geneseo is seeking a service-oriented and collaborative librarian to join our team in a temporary, part-time capacity. This position is perfect for early-career librarians or experienced professionals looking to stay active in academic librarianship.
The Part-Time Reference Librarian’s primary job function is to: Provide in-person and virtual reference services to a diverse community of students, faculty, and staff. Conduct in-depth research consultations and help users navigate library resources. Contribute to ongoing library projects that build professional skill sets, including LibGuide maintenance and digital collections work.
The working hours for this position are eight hours per week which will be scheduled between Monday through Friday between 9:00am and 5:00pm. There is flexibility which day can be worked along with the option to split time across two, four hour shifts. Required Qualifications Required qualifications:
Master of Library & Information Science (MLS/MLIS) accredited by the American Library Association. Demonstrated commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive working/teaching environment. Demonstrated independence in a working environment and willingness to learn on the job.
