Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our team. This is a Contract-to-permanent position where you will play a key role in managing payroll operations for a multi-state workforce. The ideal candidate will ensure accurate payroll processing and compliance with all applicable regulations while supporting benefits administration. Responsibilities: • Process payroll for a remote, multi-state workforce, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. • Manage employee benefit functions, including 401k and RRSP administration. • Utilize accounting systems such as UKG Pro and UKG Ready to maintain payroll records. • Audit payroll data to ensure compliance with company policies and state regulations. • Handle monthly payroll for hourly employees, ensuring proper expense reporting. • Address payroll-related inquiries and resolve discrepancies efficiently. • Maintain accurate records for payroll and benefits documentation. • Collaborate with internal teams to optimize payroll processes and reporting. • Assist with payroll-related audits and provide necessary documentation. • Ensure compliance with applicable tax laws and labor regulations. Requirements • Proven experience in payroll processing for multi-state or remote teams. • Proficiency in accounting systems, including UKG Pro and UKG Ready. • Familiarity with benefit administration processes such as 401k and RRSP. • Strong knowledge of payroll auditing and accounting principles. • Ability to manage payroll operations with accuracy and attention to detail. • Excellent communication skills for addressing payroll-related concerns. • Competence in handling payroll for hourly employees without union or shift differentials. • Familiarity with monthly expense reporting and related processes.
