A Part-Time Patient & Family Concierge works 20 hours per week with shifts that can be 8, 10 or 12 hours long, scheduled for either day or evening. The starting rate for this position is $18.00 per hour. About the Unit: 7D is a 19-bed unit that cares for patients recovering from advanced chest and abdominal surgeries. Most of our patients come from recovery areas like the PACU, surgical ICUs, or outpatient clinics. While 7D is a fast-paced and busy unit, we have a strong team culture—surgeons, physician assistants, nurses, and support staff all work closely together to provide the highest level of care. **Purpose:** The Patient & Family Concierge provides compassionate service and support to patients, families, and visitors, ensuring a top-notch experience during their hospital stay. The role includes assisting with coordination of patient and visitor destinations, environmental services, dietary needs, transport, and supply management, while prioritizing satisfaction and quality care throughout. **Responsibilities:** + Provide a range of services to ensure a positive experience for patients, families, and visitors. + Greet and escort patients and visitors, coordinate directions, and offer assistance with parking and patient belongings. + Clean and organize patient rooms, public areas, and equipment while ensuring maintenance issues are reported. + Assist with dietary services by delivering meals, maintaining food safety, and ensuring sanitation. + Manage patient transportation, supply delivery, and equipment inventory, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. + Answer phones, respond to call lights, and interact with patients to assess needs. + Follow infection control procedures. + Maintain a positive, compassionate approach to all interactions. + Must be able to follow both written and verbal instructions effectively. + Perform in accordance with all other system-wide competencies/behaviors. + Must possess a strong desire, drive, and compassion to deliver an outstanding patient and family experience at all times. + A High School diploma, active enrollment in a High School/GED program, or one year of relevant job experience in lieu of a diploma/GED is required. + Previous experience in healthcare or customer service is preferred but not required. **Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:** + Act 34 **UPMC is an Equal Opportunity Employer/Disability/Veteran**
