Part-time Human Resource / Payroll Manager
Part-Time Human Resources/Payroll Manager Reports To: Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Schedule: Variable (20-80 hours/month, depending on business needs) System One is partnering with a client seeking a highly organized and experienced Part-Time HR/Payroll Manager to support a small but dynamic organization operating in the energy sector. This flexible position is ideal for a self-motivated professional who is comfortable working independently. Initially the role will be office based in either Tulsa or Newtown but potentially will transition to a fully remote basis. The role involves managing a broad range of payroll and human resource functions across three related companies and reports directly to the CEO while supporting the CFO. Key Responsibilities Payroll Administration + Prepare and submit accurate semi-monthly payrolls using ADP and Intuit payroll software for three small companies (less than 30 employees in multiple locales) + Ensure timely remittance of payroll taxes and statutory deductions + Maintain payroll records and address employee inquiries regarding pay, deductions, and related matters Human Resources Administration + Manage HR processes including onboarding, offboarding, employee recordkeeping, and life-cycle events + Support employee relations by providing guidance on company policies and employment best practices + Administer employee benefit programs including enrollments, terminations, and annual renewals + Manage workers' compensation and unemployment claims as needed + Set up state tax and unemployment insurance accounts in new jurisdictions as the organization expands + Ensure compliance with all applicable federal and state employment laws and regulations + Maintain employee files in compliance with privacy and retention requirements Reporting & Coordination + Generate regular reports for the Controller and CFO as needed + Serve as liaison with payroll providers, benefits broker and vendors, and regulatory agencies Required Skills & Knowledge + Payroll processing experience ideally using ADP and/or Intuit (QuickBooks) + Solid understanding of U.S. employment regulations and payroll tax compliance + Proficiency in employee benefit plan administration + Strong written and verbal communication skills + High level of accuracy, discretion, and attention to detail + Ability to manage priorities in a flexible, fast-paced environment + Comfortable working independently Qualifications & Experience + Minimum 10 years of HR experience in a broad-based role + Experience with multi-state payroll/HR strongly preferred + Prior experience in a small business or energy-related company is an asset + Degree or diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field + Professional certifications such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or FPC/CPP (from the American Payroll Association) are considered an asset System One, and its subsidiaries including Joulé, ALTA IT Services, and Mountain Ltd., are leaders in delivering outsourced services and workforce solutions across North America.
