The department of Writing Studies, Rhetoric, and Composition is searching to fill open sections for Professional Writing Instructors to teach sections WRT 114 in Fall 2025. WRT 114 - Writing Culture: Nonacademic writing; creative nonfiction, memoir, the essay. Students write texts experimenting with style, genre, and subject; read contemporary nonfiction texts by varied authors; attend lectures/readings of visiting writers. The hiring rate of pay for the successful candidate will be determined based on their per-credit rate history with the hiring department. Multiple sections may be available; teaching load for new instructors may be anywhere from 1 to 4 sections per semester dependent on need and availability. All offerings are contingent on budgetary approval and sufficient enrollment. PLEASE NOTE: All offerings are face-to-face in Syracuse, NY; remote teaching is not available.
