Mandatory overtime is determined by business needs and may require additional hours during the regular schedule, as well as availability on weekends.
Position Summary:
Under direct supervision, a Destruction Witness Associate is primarily responsible for overseeing the secure transportation and incineration of DEA-regulated materials, ensuring adherence to disposal protocols and regulatory requirements. This role demands meticulous observation and procedural adherence to safeguard the proper disposal of regulated materials, contributing to both environmental and regulatory compliance.
Primary Duties:
Collects transportation to ensure vehicle readiness a day prior to scheduled destruction runPrepares for witnessing procedure by obtaining necessary materials and PPEParticipates, in an observational capacity, the loading of DEA-regulated materials into truck and complete any necessary paperworkCoordinates trip details with truck driver, including route information, contact details, and any additional updatesDrives to destruction facility, following loaded truck and maintaining visual contact at all timesChecks in and out of destruction facility and notifies supervisor of arrival and departure statusesDocuments and observes the destruction of materials by witnessing and capturing images of the breaking of the seal and incineration processesSubmits all paperwork, documentation, and trip materials to supervisor after completion of the destruction tripFollows all safety and security protocols and reports any health or safety concerns in a timely mannerPerform other duties as assigned.Required Qualifications:
Legally authorized to work in the U.S.High School diploma or its equivalent; or any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to complete the responsibilities of this positionPossess a valid driver’s licenseAbility to drive a passenger vehicle for up to 8 hoursAbility to work in a non-climate controlled environmentStrong attention to detail and ability to follow precise proceduresAbility to follow operating and safety proceduresEffective communication skillsAbility to adapt to changing schedules and last-minute adjustmentsConsistent punctuality and reliabilityCapacity to address and report any issues or concernsAbility to troubleshoot minor logistical challengesIndividual Competencies:
