Description
We are seeking an Accountant to join our client’s team in Reading, Pennsylvania. This is a long-term contract role that offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to key financial operations while gaining valuable experience in general ledger (GL) and accounts receivable (AR) processes. The ideal candidate will possess strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accurate financial records, preparing detailed reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
Schedule:
+ Hours: Monday–Friday, Onsite
+ Part-Time: 25–30 hours per week, with a transition to Full-Time
Key Responsibilities:
+ Maintain and reconcile the general ledger to ensure accurate financial reporting.
+ Prepare journal entries and assist in month-end and year-end closing activities.
+ Manage accounts receivable processes, including invoicing, payment application, and collections.
+ Generate financial statements and supporting schedules to provide timely insights to management.
+ Perform detailed account reconciliations and address discrepancies promptly.
+ Assist with audits and ensure compliance with regulatory and reporting requirements.
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data accuracy and operational efficiency.
+ Leverage accounting software, such as NetSuite, for day-to-day financial processes.
+ Conduct aging analysis and monitor receivables to optimize cash flow.
Requirements
+ Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
+ Experience: 2–4 years of accounting experience, with a focus on general ledger and accounts receivable functions.
+ Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (NetSuite preferred) and strong Excel capabilities.
+ Knowledge: Solid understanding of accounting principles, best practices, and financial statement preparation; experience supporting audits.
+ Additional Skills: Hands-on experience with accounts payable, journal entries, and bank reconciliations.
+ Soft Skills: Exceptional attention to detail, organizational abilities, and strong communication skills for cross-department collaboration
