Job Title: Parent Support Staff | Family Support & Stabilization

Job Summary:

To provide Support for Family Support & Stabilization whose mission is to strengthen, expand and integrate a comprehensive system of community-based, culturally competent behavioral health and complementary services for children with serious emotional and behavioral health needs and their families. Assist families and youth in developing skills and supports that promote family cohesion and safe and successful community living. Work with a team of Masters Level clinician and other case managers.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Outreach and engagement of youth and families; Develop positive working relationships with; DCF personnel; educational personnel; and other collaterals such as individual therapists; clinics; and other agencies involved in the case. Support the Clinician with psycho-education for the youth and his/her family about serious emotional disturbance and manifestations of psychiatric disorders and treatment; Provide family treatment and support interventions that are designed to teach skills and competencies that assist the youth and family to overcome challenges posed by behaviors associated with the youth’s condition and associated stresses on the family;

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in a human service field is preferred. It is preferred they have at least six (6) months experience: working with the target population; or navigating any of the child and family serving systems and teaching family members who are involved with the child and family serving systems. Understanding/willingness to be part of a Program that supports youth and families 24 hours per day, 365 days a year. Must have a valid driver’s license and availability of vehicle to support Program needs
