NaphCare is seeking to hire a Paramedic to join our team of medical professionals in the Hamilton County Detention Center in Cincinatti.

 

As a Correctional Paramedic, you will work alongside correctional officers and other medical professionals to provide care to the individuals in residence. Working within a controlled environment, where security is top priority and the days are never dull, you will have various duties to keep you engaged including assessing and treating patients, responding to emergencies and assisting with medical protocols.

Job Duties / Responsibilities

The Paramedic will play a critical role in our continued mission to provide quality healthcare that protects the rights, dignity, and health of our unique patient population. Duties and responsibilities may include and not be limited to:

Responding to emergencies, administering medications, and coordinating with other staff to ensure inmate health and safety.Assist with performing patient assessments, interviewing patients about current health problems, medication historyTaking vital signs including blood pressure, temperature, respiration, and weight, draw bloodDocumenting medical history including medications, treatment and medical conditionsAssisting with the maintenance of medical equipment and supplies within the facilityComplete intake screeningAdminister and read PPDEnsuring the safety and security of inmates and staff during medical procedures and transportObserving and reporting changes in patients’ physical or mental health to nurses Qualifications

Requirements / Qualifications

Completion of a Paramedic programAbility to obtain the necessary state licenses for ParamedicHigh school diploma or equivalent (GED)Have CPR CertificationAbility to pass a criminal background checkAble to maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential informationDisplay integrity, professionalism and be able to adhere to a Code of Conduct and comply with all facility(s) correctional healthcare policies, procedures, and legal requirementsNew graduates are encouraged to apply!

 

Physical Capabilities:

Must have the ability to stand for long periods, lift and move patients (up to 50 pounds), bend, squat, reach, push, pull, walk significant distances, and perform physically demanding tasks like CPR, all while maintaining good balance and endurance throughout a shift.
