Job Description

The Paralegal Specialist provides paralegal support for Client Legal Services attorneys preparing pleadings and motions. Under general attorney supervision, this individual facilitates the discovery process, including drafting discovery, obtaining peers and experts, reviewing documents, obtaining information from clients for discovery, and preparing trial materials.

This position is ideal for a highly organized, adaptable paralegal who excels in a defense-focused environment, supports multiple attorneys, and thrives under evolving priorities.

Key Responsibilities 

Handle service of answers, discovery exchanges, IME (Independent Medical Exam)/Peer and ROD (Review of Documents) review exchanges 

Draft and serve responses to discovery demands; manage supplemental demands 

Prepare trial materials and assist attorneys in trial prep, arbitration, or mediation 

Communicate with vendors and manage medical records, document exchange, and e-filing 

Navigate and use vendor websites for record requests, updates, and reviews 

Work closely with 3–4 attorneys 

Complete ~15 daily tasks (average 2 per hour); volume may fluctuate depending on business needs 

Communicate with Claim Business Partners and Plaintiff Attorneys on case status 

Review new file assignments and draft initial pleadings (answers, motions, etc.) 

Continually monitor and summarize relevant legal issues for attorney awareness 

Stay updated on new/proposed legislation and assess its relevance 

Education 

Bachelor’s degree AND at least 1 year of paralegal experience, OR 

Paralegal certificate (ABA-approved preferred) AND at least 2 years of paralegal experience 

 

Experience 

0–2 years of legal/paralegal experience (Preferred) 

Paralegal experience in bodily injury defense or personal injury law is a strong plus 

 

Additional Qualifications 

Strong time management, adaptability, and ability to prioritize under pressure Team-oriented with strong communication and interpersonal skills Experience working with legal vendors, managing case documents, and e-filing Ability to tailor support to diverse personalities and work styles Nice to Have Notary Public certification 

 

Supervisory Responsibilities 

This job does not have supervisory duties. 

Location Requirement: 

Candidates must reside within 50 miles of Dallas, TX .

Compensation

Compensation offered for this role is $26.20 - 41.84 per hour and is based on experience and qualifications.

The candidate(s) offered this position will be required to submit to a background investigation.
