Paralegal, Asset Management
Job Purpose & Scope Responsible for assisting in the preparation and execution of contract and loan documents for the Real Estate Specialties Group (RESG). Works under the general direction. Essential Job Functions Provides administrative support for multiple initiatives and projects, including review of collateral release, legal research, lawsuit status, subpoenas, and in-house modifications. Collaborates with RESG Asset Management, paralegal(s), and attorneys to process commercial real estate transactions timely and accurately. Assists with the preparation and execution of contracts and loan documents. Prepares and reviews partial releases, UCCs, and other related documents. Maintains and updates department policy and procedures, including making document revisions, managing communications of revisions, conducting reviews, and coordinating and communicating approvals. Organizes and maintains various documents and forms. Coordinates and communicates training sessions for Asset Management and assists with various related responsibilities. Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with colleagues, attorneys, clients, managers, and other internal and external parties. Performs other responsibilities as required. Regularly exercises discretion and good judgment in the performance of essential job functions. Maintains good punctuality and attendance to work. Follows Bank policy, procedures, and guidelines. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Knowledge of legal documentation practices and terminology. Knowledge of spelling, punctuation, sentence structure and grammar. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with internal and external clients. Ability to demonstrate professional behavior. Ability to multi-task, manage multiple priorities, and work well under pressure and with exacting deadlines. Ability to organize work and maintain attention to detail. Ability to demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness in work. Ability to demonstrate effective time management. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment. Ability to demonstrate accountability for assignments. Skill in proofreading accurately. Skill in using Microsoft Windows and MS Office applications, including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Adobe, and Outlook. Basic Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree or paralegal certification preferred. Minimum of three (3) years of experience in an administrative position, legal environment, financial institution, or title company required.
