Introduction

Join Metso at Karratha’s newest and best equipped repair facility.  We are seeking experienced fixed plant Painter/Blasters to join our Service team in the newly built Metso Karratha Service Centre.

 

These positions are on an 8/6 roster and are residential in Karratha.

 

What you’ll do:

Dressing items with a grinder for paint prepping, according to specifications set out on drawings. Perform routine maintenance of production tools to specifications. Basic process planning applicable to paint and blast shop planning activities. Operate hand tools and power tools appropriate to the job. Operate forklift/crane where required. Order materials for replacement of consumable items where needed. Assist in the provision of on the job training when required. Manual handling of loads with weights varying between 5-20kg Adhering to safe work practices and report immediately any unsafe acts or equipment; Working within the provided OHS policies and procedures; Promptly reporting all accidents, hazards and near misses within the allocated timeframe. Using the Company’s safety tools to assist in controlling the hazards, which apply to each task you undertake. Participating in Toolbox Talks and workplace inspections as required; Speaking up to improve safety.

 

Who you are:

At least 3-5 years relevant experience as a Painter. Experience with blasting Experience with blasting specifications Experience in operating hand/power tools. Knowledge and experience in safe work practices Good planning and organising skills to meet deadlines. Basic communication skills including reading. Ability to read and interpret basic technical drawings. Basic mathematical ability
