To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily:
+ Comply with Xylem and OSHA safety standards, procedures, and regulations, including daily attendance at safety/toolbox meetings.
+ Move equipment in and out of preparation and paint booth areas using a forklift.
+ Accurately prepare and mix paint to ensure proper adhesion.
+ Inspect equipment to ensure surfaces are properly prepared before applying electrostatic paint.
+ Properly store or dispose of unused paints and solvents.
+ Clean, maintain, and inspect painting equipment after each use.
+ Operate electrostatic paint application equipment properly and safely.
+ Demonstrate general knowledge of safety equipment, including respirators.
+ Maintain and troubleshoot paint equipment as needed.
+ Understand paint booth operations and follow proper housekeeping procedures.
+ Operate and use basic hand tools.
+ Display general mechanical aptitude.
+ Operate forklifts safely.
+ Follow directions, work collaboratively as a team player, and independently when required.
**Education & Experience:**
+ High school diploma or equivalent required.
+ 1–3 years of industrial painting experience preferred.
+ Experience in an auto body shop, paint shop, or vocational technical center is a plus.
**A Day in the Life**
This role is performed in a shop/manufacturing environment with exposure to all weather conditions, shop noise, and fumes within OSHA standards. The role may involve working near moving machinery and requires use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
**Physical demands include:**
+ Bending, squatting, stooping, twisting, kneeling, climbing
+ Lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds
+ Extended work hours as needed (including weekends, overtime, and on-call rotations)
+ Working while using PPE, including breathing apparatus
+ Compliance with annual OSHA respirator fit testing requirements

**Estimated Pay Range:** $20/hr to $25/hr _Starting pay is dependent on multiple factors including skills, experience, and work location. It is not typically at the top of the range._
