A Painter with Waldorf Astoria Hotels and Resorts is responsible for maintaining the highest aesthetic standards across all hotel areas by performing painting, finishing, and touch-up work on walls, surfaces, furniture, and fixtures. What will I be doing
As a painter, you are responsible for maintaining and enhancing the visual appeal of all guest areas, public spaces, and back-of-house facilities. You will also respond to guest and internal requests efficiently, ensuring minimal disruption and consistent quality. Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:
\n\nPerform interior and exterior painting, including surface preparation, priming, sanding, staining, varnishing, and sealing to achieve high-quality finishes.\nCarry out regular painting maintenance and repair tasks on walls, ceilings, woodwork, doors, metalwork, and furniture throughout the property.\nPrepare, paint, and polish surfaces in guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house locations, ensuring a flawless and professional finish.\nCarry out scheduled decorating and maintenance tasks efficiently and ensure all work is completed within the required timeframe and quality standards.\nIdentify surface imperfections and conduct repair work including sanding, filling cracks or holes, and priming as necessary.\nApply various finishes and techniques such as staining, varnishing, and texturing to walls, ceilings, woodwork, and fixtures.\nEnsure safe handling, labeling, and secure storage of all paints, solvents, and chemical materials in compliance with health and safety regulations.\nMaintain all painting tools, equipment, and workspace in excellent condition, ensuring cleanliness and readiness for use at all times.\nProtect surrounding areas during painting and decorating work by using drop cloths, masking, and appropriate safety measures.\nConduct regular inspections to identify areas in need of touch-up or repainting and take proactive action to maintain the hotel’s visual standards.\nCollaborate with other departments to minimize disruption to guests while coordinating painting activities.\nFollow all hotel and departmental health and safety guidelines, including the proper use of protective equipment and safe working practices.\nDemonstrate outstanding customer service and professionalism when interacting with guests and colleagues, ensuring a courteous and accommodating approach.\nKeep accurate records of work performed, materials used, and areas completed as part of maintenance reporting.\nWhat are we looking for

\n\nMinimum 3–5 years of proven experience as a professional Painter, preferably within a luxury hotel, resort, or high-end commercial setting.\nVocational certification or relevant trade qualification in Painting and Decorating.\nExpertise in surface preparation, color mixing, painting techniques, and finishing methods including varnishing and polishing.\nStrong eye for detail and aesthetics, with the ability to achieve consistently high-quality finishes.\nKnowledge of a wide range of painting tools, materials, and equipment, along with safe usage and handling.\nFamiliarity with health & safety regulations, including the safe storage and disposal of paints, solvents, and chemicals.\nAbility to identify and repair surface imperfections, cracks, or damages with appropriate materials and techniques.\nCompetent in following preventive maintenance schedules and completing work documentation accurately.\nCapable of reading and interpreting design specifications, color guides, and work orders.\nComfortable working independently and as part of a collaborative engineering and maintenance team.\nExcellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a courteous and guest-oriented approach.\nCommitted to delivering work of the highest standards while maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work environment.\nFlexible and dependable, with the ability to work varied shifts, including weekends and on-call hours when needed.\nWell-groomed and professionally presented at all times in accordance with luxury brand standards.\n\n
