Just look up. **Are you ready to go beyond?** **Job Summary:** Apply coating to aircraft parts, flying surfaces per tech data and work instructions. **This is a 1st Shift position:** **Monday – Thursday 5:00 am – 3:30 pm** **What You Will Do:** + Clean and prepare areas for painting. Set up and operate a blast booth or similar equipment. + Ensure all quality related items are complete and documented to meet established quality standards. + Ensure all phases of painting/coating as specified by work instructions, comply with required self-inspection or peer inspection of critical processes ensuring adherence to quality standards. + Monitor and ensure processes meet Safety, Quality and Delivery objectives. **Qualifications You Must Have:** + **Technical Skills -** Experience with industrial spray-painting equipment (HVLP, airless, electrostatic spray guns). Knowledge of aerospace-grade paints, primers, and protective coatings. Ability to read and follow technical data, manuals, and work routers. Understanding of mixing ratios, viscosity, curing times, and chemical handling. + **Safety & Compliance** - Knowledge of OSHA safety standards related to chemicals, solvents, and respirator use. Experience with hazardous materials handling (HAZMAT) and PPE. Ability to work in ventilated paint booths and follow EHS requirements. + **Certifications/Training** - High school diploma or equivalent. Paint/coating trade school or military training (if available). + **Work Traits** - Good hand-eye coordination, attention to detail, and ability to work with precision. Willingness to work around chemicals, fumes, and controlled environments. Ability to follow process discipline and maintain quality standards. **Qualifications** **We Prefer:** + **Industry Experience** - Previous aerospace or automotive paint/coating experience. Knowledge of Pratt & Whitney (or other OEM) specifications, such as MIL-spec or OEM paint standards. Experience with coating repairs, touch-up work, or blending finishes on complex surfaces. + **Certifications** - Prior qualification under FAA Part 145 Repair Station training. + **Technical Proficiency** - Ability to troubleshoot coating defects (runs, fisheyes, orange peel, blistering, etc.). Familiarity with surface preparation methods (blasting, sanding, masking). Understanding of cure testing, adhesion testing, and thickness check. + **Skills** - Strong accountability and ability to document work clearly in compliance systems (SAP, router sign-off, etc.). Good communicator, able to work with engineers, inspectors, and mechanics.
