Summary of Position (Job Purpose) - Major purpose and functions of the position.The Dollar Tree Social Media Specialist will support the company’s digital engagement strategy by developing and executing compelling content across social platforms to drive brand awareness, customer engagement, and traffic both online and in-store. This role reports to the Social Media Manager and collaborates closely with internal teams including creative, brand marketing, merchandising, and eCommerce.
The ideal candidate is a creative storyteller who understands how to connect with audiences on each platform through thoughtful and engaging content while authentically telling the brand story. This individual is data-informed, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment. They will play a key role in executing campaigns aligned with key business moments, programs, and the enterprise marketing calendar. Principal Duties and Responsibilities - Primary responsibilities listed in order of importancePlan, develop, and publish social media content across platforms including Facebook, Instagram, X, TikTok, and Pinterest, ensuring alignment with seasonal campaigns and brand goals.Partner with the Creative Team to develop social-first copy and visual assets that reflect brand voice, resonate with the target audience, and follow best practices for each channel.Collaborate with brand marketing, influencer marketing, merchandising, and content teams to ensure social content is integrated into broader omnichannel campaigns.Assist with influencer calendar planning and support influencer campaign development.Support corporate social content needs including seasonal initiatives, events, and executive communications.Monitor and report on performance across platforms, using insights to optimize content and inform future planning.Stay current with social media trends, platform updates, competitor activity, and cultural moments to help Dollar Tree maintain a relevant and engaging social presence.Ensure content adheres to brand guidelines, legal considerations, and compliance standards.Assist with community management in collaboration with Customer Experience and PR as needed.Participate in brainstorming and planning sessions to pitch new content ideas, social series, and real-time engagement opportunities. Minimum Requirements/Qualifications - Summary of knowledge, experience and education required.BA/BS. MBA preferred.Experience: +3 years of relevant Digital Marketing experience, ideally in Retail and/or CPG or Agency.Proven analytical abilities with strategic thought processes and reporting skills, with advanced knowledge of social media metrics/KPIsExperience managing projects in a fast-paced environmentExperience working cross-functionally and with a wide range of departmentsAbility to prioritize multiple projects with competing deadlinesExcellent communication skills at all levels of management Strong presentation skills with ability to gain alignment on recommendationsTechnical Skills: Intermediate to advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office desktop applications, inclusive of Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook. Intermediate working knowledge of the Adobe Creative Programs (Photoshop, Premiere).
