Norfolk, Nebraska location is northwest of Omaha. The area is known for their manufacturing, farming (both livestock and grain), education, retailing, and wholesaling. Well-known as the home of Johnny Carson. Our location produces powdered and dehydrated meat and poultry products, for use in products such as seasonings, soups, and instant meals. Responsibilities Essential **Duties and Responsibilities:** Assemble appropriate boxes and attach appropriate labels. Pack finished product in to boxes or bags, as per specification. Maintain packing reports. Prepare sampling bags and sample per instructions. Adjust new weight of finished product containers. Monitor and maintain proper packing room temperature. Monitor condition and appearance of finished product; reporting anything abnormal to dryer operator and supervisor. Weighing and sampling all finished products per instructions. Stack finished product on pallets and use pallet jack to transport product to powder cooler. Perform mid-shift clean-ups in the packing room during operations. Keep packing room clean and dry. Monitor operation of packing room equipment. Responsibilities of All Employees: Minimize product loss. Follow Sanitation Standard Operating Procedure (SSOP) and Hazard Analysis & Critical Control Point (HACCP) programs. Document information and taking appropriate corrective actions, if needed. Maintain and operate all equipment in a safe manner to avoid injury to self or others; Keep work area neat, clean and sanitary. Attend scheduled safety meetings and training sessions. Report all work-related injuries or unsafe conditions to supervisor immediately. Communicate any problems or difficulties, whether personal or product related to shift supervisor. Use appropriate safety equipment and wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required, and follow proper safety procedures and regulations. Use lockout/tagout procedures when required. Take proper care of equipment and tools. Maintain good personal hygiene. Follow instructions from supervisor and cooperate with coworkers and other departments. Assist in first-aid to employees and properly reporting and document accidents and injuries. Fill in where needed. Assist in job training of new employees. Qualifications Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Ability to print and speak simple sentences. Mathematical Skills: Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance. Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
