Job Title: Packaging Technician
Location: Newport (NP19)
£14.17 per hour increasing to £16.67 after 12 weeks.
FLT Counterbalance Licence is desirable
Our client is a global leader in the field of chemistry, providing material solutions that are utilised across a wide range of major industries. They are now recruiting additional Packaging Technicians to join their 24/7 operation.
Shifts:12-hour shifts, 4 on 4 off (2 days, 2 nights) - 3 rotations followed by a 10 day rest period.7am to 7pm, 7pm to 7amKey Responsibilities:Operate packaging lines and equipment to deliver high-quality products.Ensure correct labelling, packaging type, and grade compliance.Maintain plant and machinery condition using 5S principles.Follow verbal and written instructions to complete tasks accurately.Adhere to Health, Safety, and Environmental policies.Operate a forklift truck (training provided).Conduct detailed shift handovers and maintain an electronic logbook.Collaborate with the shift team to meet objectives.Perform basic fault-finding on breakdowns.Inspect packaged goods for defects before dispatch.Monitor and maintain packaging material inventory levels.Skills and Experience:FLT Counterbalance licence is desirableAttention to detail and accuracyStrong communication skills (Face-to-face/Radio/Written/IT)Eager to learn and apply new skillsEffective team playerSelf-motivated and proactive problem solverAdaptable with a positive attitude in challenging situationsBenefits:Overtime payable at x1.5Pay increase after 12 weeks of servicePension, holiday, and sick payFree parking on siteCanteen on siteCompany shares plan after a qualifying periodRoles subject to DBS check, Drug/Alcohol tests, and Pre-Employment Medical checks
