Packaging Material Engineer (m/f/d)

Your key responsibilities

To define packaging materials/specifications following the different product properties to offer optimal protection and cost-effectiveness and to keep packaging materials updated following the latest trends and advancements in packaging technology and materialsTo analyse product requirements: understanding of the specific needs of the different properties/packaging process to design appropriate packagingTo design and to develop packaging complying with regulatory standards, primary and secondary packaging (bags, carton box, pallet, labels, jerrycans, drums, IBC) and define the proper palletization schemes of each of the final packs to have secure and optimized transportationTo work closely with production/quality teams to ensure packaging design can be efficiently manufactured and to support tests to assess the effectiveness, safety, and durability of the packagingTo work closely with indirect material purchase to collaborate with the vendors to source high-quality materials considering also environmental impact and sustainability in the design and selection of packaging materialsTo be the point of contact to solve any packaging-material related issues that arise during production or transportation or coming from complaints

You bring

Master degree or equivalent in packaging or materials science, or a related fieldMore than 5 - 10 years of experience in FMCG, Packaging, Pharma or Chemical industryStrong Know-how in Packaging materials for food and or chemical manufacturing, plastic and metallic material properties. Interaction material/product within packagingKnow-how in stability test for material, transportation test; UN certification and more in general Dangerous good regulations; Material testing protocolProven experience in packaging technology development & implementation – interactions with external lab/entities to organize proper testExcellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills; Strong problem-solving abilities, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teamsFluent in English (written and spoken)
