Packaging & Labeling Technician I

Mon - Fri 6 am - 2:30 pm

The Ward Hill facility in Haverhill, MA is a part of Thermo Fisher’s Laboratory Chemical division and is responsible for shipping over 55,000 chemicals of various sizes and classifications to our customers.

How Will You Make an Impact?:

As a Repack/Labeling Technician I, you will be responsible for re-packaging and labeling various chemicals in our warehouse environment.

A Day in the Life:

Weigh, package and label various chemicals, primarily liquids and powders, into containers of varying sizes according to site rules and regulations.

Sustain a high level of quality to ensure products are accurately processed according to order specifications.

Safely operate warehouse equipment (pallet jacks) as required.

Other duties as assigned.

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience:

Required: No prior related experience required

Preferred: Previous work experience in manufacturing, operations, production, lab setting or related field

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

Able to communicate both verbally and written in English

Basic computer knowledge (to navigate ERP systems, Outlook, MS Office programs) and basic math skills (addition, subtraction, etc.).

Interpersonal and customer service skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and internal customers.

Physical Requirements / Work Environment:

Ability to work in a warehouse environment under various temperatures, including cold room and/or freezer room.

Some degree of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment required): safety glasses, lab coat, safety shoes, and gloves.

Ability to lift/push/pull up to 40 pounds on a regular basis. Occasionally required to lift heavier weights with assistance.

Ability to handle hazardous chemicals in a safe manner.

Ability to stand for up to 8 hours, kneel, crouch, and walk.

Some overtime may be required.
