We are looking for a dynamic, organized self-starter to join our Product Support and Logistics Division as a Packaging Engineer in Morton, IL.

Job Summary:

This Packaging Engineer executes solutions on packaging design and usage and related safety, quality, delivery, and cost.

This role is located in Morton, IL and does not offer relocationThis role is 1st shiftThis role is 100% on-site with no opportunities for hybrid or remote schedulesThis role requires up to 10% domestic travel

What You Will Do:

Design control for 664 corrugated and paperboard materialsMaintain and improve on current designs to meet safety, quality, velocity, and cost goalsCreate new solutions to support network operations and dealer needsInventory management actions to achieve optimal balance between availability and turnSchedule collaboration to improve availabilityJoint Process Improvement projects with strategic suppliersDesign new packaging for products based off of key performance indicatorsProviding detailed guidance and specifications to suppliersEvaluate quality and effectiveness of existing packaging; addressing supplier issues caused by manufacturing defects

What You Have (Required Skills):

Troubleshooting Technical Problems: Knowledge of troubleshooting approaches, tools and techniques; ability to anticipate, detect and resolve technical problems in a manufacturing environment.Packaging: Knowledge of packaging tools, approaches and practices; ability to package products and components safely and attractively.Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.Service Excellence: Knowledge of customer service concepts and techniques; ability to meet or exceed customer needs and expectations and provide excellent service in a direct or indirect manner.

Bachelor’s degree in technical field or equivalent experienceUnderstanding of Aftermarket Parts NetworkCorrugated packaging industry experience or related technical field

Summary Pay Range:

$87,480.00 - $131,280.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
