Packaging Engineer
Join our Research and Development team as a Packaging Engineer supporting our iconic Salty Snacking brands! Lead and collaborate on complex programs from ideation through scale-up. You will use your in-depth knowledge of packaging materials, design principles and operations. This hybrid position is based in Battle Creek, MI area. Estimated travel is 20-40%. Innovate with us by creating new packaging and optimizing existing packaging people will enjoy. Develop and refine packaging materials, from idea generation through proof of concept to commercialization. Assume the role of innovator, project leader, and technical problem solver. Drive growth and bottom-line optimization as you team up with cross-functional partners to provide timely and cost-effective renovations. A Taste of What You’ll Be Doing + Innovation/Creativity  – Provide timely innovative and cost-effective improvements. This will include concept, development and commercialization. Share technical insight and understanding with respect to new or existing packaging or processes. + Value Creation – Improve margin, drive sustainability enablement and deliver business results. Focus on bottom line growth as you create, transform and execute packaging projects across existing products. Develop a multi-year pipeline, leading in the discovery, evaluation and advancement of new packaging designs and technologies. + Technical Leadership - Use your technical acumen, leadership and expertise within the field. You will assess, develop and commercialize different initiatives. Innovation, cost optimization, external partnerships and process improvements will be key focus areas.  + What’s Trending? – This position is responsible for technical scouting, advancement and evaluation of new packaging technologies in material/equipment research and development. We’re Looking for Someone With + Bachelor of Science in Packaging, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or another related technical field. + Technical depth and breadth within the packaging discipline. + Clear understanding of packaging design, materials, shelf life, equipment, and systems. + Experienced in problem-solving, leading, and managing projects, project teams and pipeline growth. + Proven track record of leadership, business acumen, communication skills, and diplomacy. Compensation The annual salary range is $100,600-$132,000, which is based on various factors such as location, experience and skill.
