Role Definition:

Work with manufacturing team or end customer and packaging design team to bring out a best packaging design to meet Product Requirements and New Model program metrics such as Safety, Quality, Velocity, Cost as well Sustainable.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates meetings and partners with cross-functional team for packaging approvals between design and   end user.

• Solidifying agreement with Supply Chain on Returnable packaging loop size/inventory and drives procurement through standard process.

• Governing and meeting new model launch metrices, score card etc.

• Leading design approval meetings and conducting proto validation to get sign-off from stake holders.

• Independently identifying cost reduction and sustainability opportunities.

Skill Descriptors:

Packaging: Knowledge of packaging tools, approaches and practices; ability to provide package solutions for products and components with safety approach and better handling methods.

Level Working Knowledge:

 • Assists in packaging, maintenance and repair work under the direction of senior staff.

• Operates a packaging machine to fulfil a series of packaging tasks according to a company or client's specifications.

 • Adheres to the packaging development process and assists in executing key packaging phases.

• Conducts basic packaging study for finished package, simulations and testing

• Produces package specifications for a new product or package.

Design & Engineering: Knowledge of tools and techniques of specialized graphics programs; ability to produce, analyse, simulate and test product design drafts.

Level Basic Understanding:

• Describes common drafting conventions, tools, procedures and processes.

• Explains & demonstrate the usage of software tool CREO, Solid works, Auto CADD

Manufacturing Safety: Knowledge of manufacturing safety; ability to identify work-related hazards and perform necessary activities to meet regulatory requirements for the safety and protection of workers,

Level Working Knowledge:

• Conducts daily maintenance and keeps tracking logs on safety

• Responds to first aid and accident situations following standard procedures.

• Inspects manufacturing working environment to find safety violations within a specific area.

• Utilizes personal protective equipment required or recommended for staff

 • Determines appropriate action to take when unsafe conditions are encountered.

Service Excellence: Knowledge of customer service concepts and techniques; ability to meet or exceed customer needs and expectations and provide excellent service in a direct or indirect manner. Level Working Knowledge:

 • Provides a quality of service that customers describe as excellent

• Resolves common customer problems.

• Responds to unexpected customer requests with a sense of urgency and positive action

• Provides direct service to internal or external customers.

• Documents customer complaints in a timely manner for a delivery sign off

Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviours.

Level Working Knowledge:

• Delivers helpful feedback that focuses on behaviours without offending the recipient.

• Listens to feedback without defensiveness and uses it for own communication effectiveness.

• Makes oral presentations and writes reports needed for own work.

• Avoids technical jargon when inappropriate.

• Looks for and considers non-verbal cues from individuals and groups.

Technical Excellence:

CREO, Solid works, Auto CADD –2D /3D, Certified packaging knowledge

Degree Requirement:

BE / ME – Degree with 5- 7 years in packaging domain

Work exposure in manufacturing and packaging industry

Relocation is available for this position.
