We’re looking for a Packaging Engineer to join our Supply Chain & Logistics team: someone who can blend technical expertise with practical problem solving to ensure products move efficiently from production to delivery. In this role, you’ll design packaging and container solutions that protect products, improve handling, and reduce costs, all while keeping sustainability, compliance, and operational efficiency front of mind.
Responsibilities Manage daily, weekly and monthly ad-hoc projects as well as larger, multifaceted projects requiring coordination, data gathering, analysis and reporting.Design packaging for components, sub-assemblies, and finished goodsEnsure designs meet protection, ergonomic, and regulatory requirements (including hazmat and environmental standards)Optimize designs for cost, weight, space utilization, and ease of handlingDevelop reusable and returnable container systems to reduce waste and improve efficiencyStandardize container types to simplify logistics and reduce complexityWork with vendors to source containers that meet specificationsSupply Chain Optimization
Improve packaging and container designs to maximize transportation efficiencyReduce packaging waste without compromising product integrityUse time studies and simulations to streamline material flow in production and warehousingCross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with procurement, suppliers, logistics, and production to align packaging with supply chain goals.Work with production engineers to support manufacturing efficiency.Coordinate with quality teams to test and validate packaging performance.Sustainability Initiatives
Increase use of recyclable or biodegradable materials.Minimize environmental impact through smarter material usage and reusable systemTechnical Documentation & Standards
Create and maintain packaging specifications, standards, and drawingsDocument best practices for packaging and containerizationEnsure compliance with industry standards such as ISTA and ISO 11607Continuous Improvement & Problem-Solving
Troubleshoot packaging and container issues in the supply chain.Conduct root cause analyses and implement solutionsTrack and measure improvements.

At least 2 years of supply chain, engineering or manufacturing experience
