Packaging Compatibility Technician

We have an exciting opportunity for a Packaging Compatibility Technician to join our company at our Indianapolis, IN site. In this role, you will support packaging projects in the region following Corteva’s packaging Procedures, standards and best practices which fulfill all internal and external customer expectations.What You’ll Do:  As a Packaging Compatibility Technician, the primary role is to follow the packaging compatibility work process. This includes the execution of package screening, headspace analysis, vapor sorption analysis, coupon compatibility, packaging qualification projects and other activities which support package and product development.

A.- Coordinate study activities with global PC scientists and schedule and execute study initiations

B.- Sample pull management

Prepare weekly sample pull list and communicate weekly lab activities to the team

Coordinate and execute sample pulls all lab activities

Complete data summary tables and properly format for presentation

Proactively communicate any adverse results with global PC scientists

C.- Analytical and performance sample submission and data management

Submit all appropriate samples to analytical and/or formulations for analysis

Review data and summarize for presentation

Proactively communicate any data that is out of specification or indicate degradation to the global PC scientist

Coordinate analytical sample discard

D.- Active participation in packaging stakeholder reviews.

E.-Coordinate with GLP group to provide packaging materials and specifications for regulatory stability testing.

F.-Study accountable / coordinator on co-formulant pack screening, headspace studies and occasional PTEC requests – plan study, execute lab activities, report results.

Packaging Compatibility Lab Managing

A.-Organize and maintain cleanliness of lab and storage units

B.-Manage and maintain inventory of package components and formulation samples

C.-Maintain lab equipment

D.-Maintain Signals lab notebook

E.-Sourcing packaging, consumables, formulations, co-formulants, etc.

F.-Lab safety and SOP focal point

G.-Lab efficiency and improvement project focal point

What Skills You Need:Associate Degree or Technical Degree in Chemistry, Material Science, Mechanical Engineering, Packaging Sciences or related discipline with proven technical work experienceTechnical experience in academia or industry is a plusProficiency with standard workstation software, including Word, Excel, and specialized computer-based systems, databases and/or software applications relevant to supported technologies and analytical equipmentUnderstanding laboratory operation and basic Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) requirements such as safe operating procedures and management of change. Strong understanding and commitment to their own and the safety of othersExpertise in analyzing data and agreeing on actionable, prioritized opportunity list with teammates.A solid track record of documentationGood problem-solving skills, data drivenStrong interpersonal, proactiveness and communication skills Ability to successfully partner with team members and stakeholders from multiple backgrounds.Ability to work in a matrix organizationAbility to work independentlyExcellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to summarize the results in a report or slide deck and proactively communicate findingsVISA Sponsorship is not available for this position.Relocation assistance is not offered for this position.This role will be on-site at the Corteva location.
