Role description:
We are seeking an experienced Senior ALCMS Design Lead to join our team in Canada. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading the design, development, and implementation of advanced Airfield Lighting Control and Management Systems (ALCMS) across various airfields in Ontario. This role requires a deep understanding of airfield lighting systems, control systems, and project management.
Role accountabilities:
This role will be accountable for leading the design and development of ALCMS projects from concept to completion while collaborating with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, software developers, and project managers, to ensure seamless execution. The position requires ensuring compliance with international standards such as ICAO and FAA, as well as adhering to local regulations specific to Ontario. Responsibilities include developing detailed design documentation, such as schematics, wiring diagrams, and control logic, and overseeing the installation, testing, and commissioning of ALCMS at various airfields in Ontario. Additionally, the role involves providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and design team members, conducting site surveys and assessments to determine project requirements, and managing project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively. This role also entails interfacing with clients to understand their needs and deliver technical solutions while staying updated with the latest advancements in airfield lighting technology and control systems.
Qualifications & Experience:
Required:
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or a related field A minimum of 8-10 years of experience in airfield lighting systems design and control systems, with proven experience in leading large-scale ALCMS projects Strong knowledge of ICAO and FAA standards for airfield lighting, along with proficiency in CAD software and other design tools Excellent project management, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team, with a proactive approach to problem-solving Willingness to travel to project sites within Ontario as requiredPreferred:
Experience with IP-based control systems and networked lighting solutions Familiarity with Human-Machine Interface (HMI) design Knowledge of safety protocols and risk management in airfield operations P.Eng. license is preferredContinue your career journey as a
