Description

Our client is seeking a Package Engineer to support a multi-discipline project with a strong fabrication component. This role bridges mechanical engineering and project execution, ensuring that fabricated equipment packages are delivered on time, on budget, and to spec.

Key Responsibilities:

Act as the primary liaison between our client, fabrication shops, and client inspectors.Coordinate procurement, material readiness, and fabrication schedules.Review and interpret fabrication drawings and ensure alignment with project requirements.Monitor fabrication progress and quality; escalate issues proactively.Manage inspections, FATs, and shipping logistics.Track and mitigate scope changes and cost escalations.Ensure compliance with client standards and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:

Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.5–10 years of experience in fabrication-heavy roles (3–5 years acceptable with strong shop background).Strong understanding of modular skid packages and oil & gas fabrication standards.PMP certification or equivalent project coordination experience is an asset.Excellent communication and negotiation skills.Experience working with or for fabricator manufacturing companies.

Nice to Have:

Experience with Suncor or CNRL projects.Familiarity with fabrication contract models (e.g., lump sum).Previous employment at an EPC/fabricator.

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $55.00/hr.
