Full time, 3 Months Project Starting October 15th, 22$/hour

Location: 318 Leroy St, Audubon, IA 50025 ( Court house)

We are looking for a Document Imaging Specialist who plays a crucial role in the preservation and accessibility of historical documents.

For this unique project, the work assignment is to digitize via camera scanner, historical official government documents for them to become accessible to the world. This will require handling delicate documents safely and following highly detailed processes.

DUTIES:

Scanning and digitizing physical documents using specialized equipment to create high-quality digital images.

Handling fragile documents safely in a detailed process

Ensuring the accuracy and clarity of scanned images through regular checks and adjustments

Maintaining and updating digital archives and databases to ensure easy access and retrieval of documents.

REQUIREMEBTS:

High school diploma is must

Experience with digitization and preservation techniques or library sciences is a plus.

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Familiarity with imaging equipment, software, and digitization techniques, including knowledge of scanners, photography, and editing software.

Strong ability to notice and address discrepancies, ensuring high-quality digital representations of documents.

Strong verbal and written communication skills to provide updates to project managers regarding status of projects and assignment

Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision

Must have an awareness of the cultural significance of documents and the importance of respectful handling and representation.
