**Job Title: Cleared Outside Machinist**
**Job Description**
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled 1st Class Outside Machinist with recent or active secret security clearance. This role involves the overhaul and repair of pumps, motors, valves, and auxiliary equipment, specifically focusing on submarine torpedo tube or sail experience. Candidates must possess their own personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hats, safety glasses, and steel-toed shoes. The work is located at HII and NNSY in Virginia.
**Responsibilities**
+ Overhaul and repair pumps, motors, valves, and other auxiliary equipment.
+ Perform open, inspect, and repair work on marine sea water, hydraulic, and diesel systems.
+ Repair and restore propulsion shaft, shaft couplings, or vibration reducers.
+ Remove, inspect, and repair fairwater, stern plane, and steering & diving system components.
+ Handle general repairs on submarine sail components such as periscopes, masts, and antennas.
+ Overhaul and repair ship’s weapons and ordinance systems including torpedo tubes and launchers.
+ Install and repair foundations for operating machinery and principal structures/components.
**Essential Skills**
+ Active or recent secret security clearance.
+ Specialized experience in submarine torpedo tube or sail systems.
+ Ability to provide personal protective equipment (PPE) and tools of the trade.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Experience as a Machinist Mate or Engineman.
+ No specific licenses or certifications required.

**Work Environment**
Work will be conducted in a shipyard environment, specifically at HII and NNSY in Virginia. The role requires adherence to safety protocols with necessary PPE, such as steel-toed shoes, provided by the machinist. Oceaneering will supply hard hats, safety glasses, and ear protection.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract position based out of Chesapeake, Virginia.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $28.00/hr.
