The opportunity

Delaware North Gaming is searching for a part-time Outrider to join our team at Finger Lakes Gaming in Farmington, New York. As a Outrider you will, under the direction of the Racing Secretary, patrol the racetrack making sure all riders follow rules and regulations, in accordance with New York State Gaming Commission and Company’s applicable Operational Standards.

Pay $84.56 - $84.56 / day

What will you do?Responsible for retrieving any horses that get loose during races or workoutsHelp riders with any unruly horses in the morning or afternoonFollow all safety requirements while overseeing racetrack training & racing.Report any infractions to the race secretary or stewardsEnsure all New York State Gaming Commission regulations and procedures are being followedOther duties as assigned

More about youMust be licensed and approved by the State Gaming CommissionHigh school diploma/GED/TASC preferredMinimum Five years of riding experience requiredRacetrack knowledge and experience requiredMust effectively be able to communicate/direct others on the racetrackRequired to supply own equipment including Safety Vest & ASTM Approved HelmetMust provide your horse

Physical requirementsManual dexterity sufficient to maneuver around horses Ability to stand, crouch, and climb to perform duties Ability to lift, push and pull up to 75 pounds Visual acuity sufficient for knowing activity in own surroundings
