This position is responsible for managing outreach strategies, utilizing a variety of mediums to effectively inform, educate and engage Montanans regarding the specialized telecommunications equipment and relay services available to qualified individuals with hearing, mobility and/or speech disabilities. This position is responsible for contract management with numerous vendors to provide high quality services. This position requires an understanding of communication needs within the disability community, strong communication and presentation skills and the ability to cultivate and maintain effective relationships with diverse stakeholders. In addition, DPHHS is the largest state agency with a wide range of advancement opportunities whether you are joining the workforce or have several years of experience. /**/ *Qualifications for this Career Opportunity* ** ** * Knowledge and understanding of the social, cultural, economic, and special needs of people who are deaf, hard of hearing, speech disabled, mobility disabled, or deaf/blind, and the ability to function in the workplace and in their environment. * Knowledge of theories and best practices in adult learning and the use of techniques and methods for ensuring the transfer of training. * Knowledge and the ability to communicate via American Sign Language or another signed mode and communicate information and ideas when speaking and writing so others will understand. * Knowledge, Skill, or Abilityto successfully work with technology and train on a variety of telephone equipment including landline, iOS and Android devices. * Good organizational and time management skills. * Meet minimum qualifications: o Associate’s degree in public/community outreach, public affairs and/or public relations or equivalent. o Two years of job-related college or vocational training in human services, communications, gerontology, or similar field. o Two years of job-related work experience such as working with older adults, people with disabilities, or in the telecommunications industry. o Ability to communicate via American Sign Language is preferred.
