Outreach Liaison, Career Navigation Initiative (CNI)
Who We Are: CAMBA is a community of staff, volunteers, clients, donors, neighbors and partners who work together to build an inclusive New York City, where all children and adults have access to the resources and supports they need to thrive.  We take a comprehensive approach by offering more than 180 integrated programs in:  Education & Youth Development, Family Support, Job Training & Employment Support Services, Health, Housing, and Legal Services. We reach more than 73,000 individuals and families, including almost 13,000 youth. CAMBA serves a diverse cross section of New Yorkers from new mothers in Brownsville to job seekers in the Rockaways. More than half of our clients are immigrants and refugees from around the globe. Over 85% of our families are in living in poverty, reflecting the challenges faced by nearly 1.7 million New Yorkers today. CAMBA's Career Navigation Initiative (CNI) will provide career coaching, training, and wraparound services that connect disadvantaged young adults to opportunities that enhance their quality of life and improve their ability to work and contribute to their community. The project will target East New York/ Brownsville youth who are struggling to connect to high quality career track training and/or employment. Position: Outreach Liaison Reports To: Supervisor/Manager Location: 475 Fountain Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11208 What The Outreach Liaison Does: + Coordinate all outreach and client recruitment activities including in person and on-line, via social media and other media. + Develop and implement a marketing plan and monthly outreach calendar. Develop new materials and methods of outreach in response to changing program and client needs. + Manage and monitor social media accounts assigned ensuring consistent and strategic outreach that aligns with the program’s marketing goals. + Conduct outreach to potential clients, influencers and trusted messengers including but not limited to: community members, community-based organizations, city agencies, elected officials, religious organizations, legal organizations, and CAMBA in-house programs. + Design presentations for community providers, local offices of government agencies, etc. to ensure their awareness of our programs and services. + Conduct appropriate and timely follow-up with contacts and all potential clients. + Recommend and implement strategies to persuade clients to participate to the fullest extent in their education/employment placement and retention goals and process. + Conduct initial intake and assessment of clients and/or clients’ families’ situations and needs, including skill levels, prior work experience, employability, interests, aptitudes, support service’s needs, family and medical history, and individual development needs. + Monitor clients’ progress toward their goals and prepare and maintain accurate, complete narrative documentation of client progress, at each point of contact, including program participation, referrals to and engagement in services, interviews and employer feedback, and progress, placement and retention data for weekly/monthly/quarterly/annual reports, in computerized client and employer tracking systems. + Advise clients regarding realistic career/employment goals and the education/training necessary to attain them. Work with clients to develop realistic educational/employment goals leading to self-sufficiency. + Facilitate clients’ development of such skills as problem-solving, decision-making, etc. + Develop strategies with clients regarding how to break through barriers to their goals, overcoming resistance to change, and how to advocate for themselves. + Work collaboratively with a team of instructors and job developers with the common goal of successfully advancing participants to employment. Minimum Education/Experience Required: + Bachelor’s degree or HS Diploma and/or equivalent experience Other Requirements: + Strong interpersonal and communication (oral and written) and time management skills. + Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail + Ability to work under pressure and perform multiple tasks with accuracy. + Possess a high degree of initiative. + Maintain a high level of confidentiality. + Excellent meeting facilitation skills, including the ability to effectively present information to a wide variety of audiences. + Ability to build and maintain trust-based relationships with multiple internal and external stakeholders. + Strong relationships with diverse local leaders from historically underrepresented communities within stated geographic regions. + Proficiency in Outlook, Word, Excel, Literacy in other Microsoft Office Suite products and social media platforms. + Team player. + Bilingual preferred -Spanish/ French Compensation: $52,000 annually When salary ranges are listed, the range would represent the low and high end for the applicable position & program. The salary offered would be based on various factors unique to each program and candidate. This includes but is not limited to experience, education, budget and/or program size, internal equity, skills and other factors that may be required for the position and organization.
