Outpatient Psychiatrist Department: MG - SPEC - OUTPATIENT PSYCH Job Summary Mohawk Valley Health System (MVHS) is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatrist to join our multidisciplinary Behavioral Health team. This full-time, hospital-employed position offers the rewarding opportunity to care for a diverse patient population in a supportive, collaborative environment. The schedule is Monday-Friday, based in a structured outpatient clinic setting, with no inpatient responsibilities. Candidates must be Board Certified or Board Eligible with a NYS License. Core Job Responsibilities + Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with a wide range of psychiatric conditions + Provide medication management and collaborate on individualized treatment plans + Work closely with a multidisciplinary team including therapists, social workers, and primary care providers + Participate in team meetings and quality improvement initiatives + Opportunity to see both adult and child/adolescent populations + Participate in shared call + Engage in medical education through supervision and teaching of psychiatry residents + Demonstrate quality in documentation + Must be on site Education/Experience Requirements REQUIRED: + Medical degree (M.D. or D.O.) and successful completion of a residency and internship. + Experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified, which may include residency in a directly related medical specialty. + Knowledge of legal and ethical standards for the delivery of medical care. + Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards. + Knowledge of community medical diagnostic and patient care services in area of medical expertise. + Ability to supervise, advise, and train clinical professionals and/or students in area of expertise. + Knowledge of relevant drugs and non-pharmaceutical patient care aids and ability to prescribe dosages and instruct patients in correct usage. + Ability to develop and present educational programs and/or workshops. + Knowledge of current principles, methods and procedures for the delivery of medical evaluation, diagnosis and treatment in area of expertise. + Ability to work both independently and in a team environment. + Knowledge of related accreditation and certification requirements. + Ability to observe, assess, and record symptoms, reactions, and progress. + Effective verbal and written communication skills.
