•Responsibilities\:

The application engineer is responsible for participating in aspects of the design and implementation of operator training simulators (OTS) as part of the Simulation & Learning team. These projects typically involve the design, development/configuration, acceptance testing, and site deployment of detailed process simulation models coupled with controls (DCS, SIS/ESD, PLC) software solutions utilizing a state-of-the-art dynamic process modeling development environment

Main responsibilities\:

Application engineering knowledge is required to model using our rigorous and state-of-the-art dynamic simulator. Prior experience to design and modelling using dynamic simulatorAssist or produce a detailed functional design document to match customer requirementsProblem identification, system architecture definition, hardware/software specification and/or design, implementation, testing, client training, and solution deploymentParticipates in aspects of the execution of operator training simulator (OTS) projects and contributes to the technical success and on-time, on-budget delivery of dynamic simulator applications while meeting customer requirements.Work with team to interface with Customer or Technical leadsProvides regular updates to the technical lead, project manager, and supervisor on project status.Participate in sales and proposal presentations to promote and help business growth. These efforts include but are not limited to scope definitions, benefit analysis, engineering hours estimates, and technical paper publication. Additionally, the candidate will contribute to the standardization of the implementation process/procedures for the business.

 

Requirements\:

Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering.Dynamic/steady-state process simulation experience.Hands-on experience with Simsci software products, including DYNSIM, SCP270, TRISIM Plus, and PRO/II, is a plus.DCS, SIS/ESD, PLC knowledge for a variety of solution vendors is an important asset3-5 years’ experience as a chemical engineer in refining. Petrochemical or Oil & Gas.

 Competences\:

Excellent communications and presentation skills—the candidate will be required to interact with customer personnel, including management, operations, control, planning, engineering, and others during project execution and sales assistance activities.Excellent computer skills.Process simulation knowledge and experience.Ability to read and interpret process flow diagrams and piping and instrumentation diagrams.Willingness and ability to travel and work at customer sites.Simulation experience in other industries and upstream production process knowledge is a plus.Planning, problem solving, customer relationships, teamwork, quality assurance, interpersonal communicationsProven written and verbal communication skills in English
