OSP Materials Planner 3

Material Planning and Scheduling

Analyze production schedules, work orders, and forecasts to resolve raw material requirements. Develop detailed shipment plans aligned with production timelines and supplier capacities. Coordinate with production planning align material availability with supplier processing schedules. Prepare, review, and approve shipping instructions for raw materials dispatched. Ensure all raw materials are packed according to specifications to prevent damage during transit. Schedule shipments in collaboration with warehouse and logistics teams, optimizing for cost, speed, and reliability. Arrange for appropriate transportation methods (road, air, sea) based on priority cost, and nature of materials. Serve as the primary point of contact for out-process suppliers regarding shipment status, material requirements, and delivery schedules. Coordinate with third-party logistics providers and freight forwarders to manage shipments, resolve issues, and confirm delivery timelines. Handle exceptions such as shipment delays, shortages, or damaged goods, and coordinate corrective actions promptly. Prepare and verify all shipping documents, including packing lists, bills of lading, customs paperwork (if applicable), and certificates of compliance. Ensure adherence to company policies and regulatory requirement related to material handling, shipping, and safety. Maintain accurate records of shipments and materials moved to out-process suppliers ERP/MRP for traceability and audit purposes. Handel raw material inventory levels to prevent sickouts or excess inventory and ensure smooth supply. Find opportunities to optimize shipping routes, consolidate shipments, and reduce freight costs without compromising delivery schedules. Collaborate with finance and procurement teams to review costs associated with material shipments and support budgeting.

Continuous Improvement and Reporting

Analyze shipment performance data to identify trends, bottlenecks, and areas for process improvement. Develop and implement standard processes for material handling and shipping to improve efficiency and reliability. Provide regular reports to management on shipment status, supplier performance, and Process Indicators Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. Experience in material planning, logistics coordination, or supply chain operations, preferably in manufacturing or industrial settings. Solid understanding of shipping procedures, documentation, and regulatory requirements. Proficiency in ERP/MRP such as SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to manage relationships with internal teams, suppliers, and logistics providers. Strong interpersonal skills with ability to prioritize and deadlines. Thorough with strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Familiarity with inventory management, production planning, and supplier coordination. For This Role, You Will Need: 3-4 years of relevant work experience in Materials Bachelor's or associate degree in engineering Candidate must be able to navigate and interpret U.S. import and export laws and regulations, another knowledge of Canada and Mexico (or be willing to learn) Advanced MS Office skills Excellent oral and written English language skills, other languages are an advantage Strong organizational skills, reliable and good attention to detail Communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with different levels of the organization Ability to organized and prioritize task, resolve problems or issues Priorities multiple tasks and changing priorities Work under pressure   Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart: Certification in trade compliance (e.g., Certified Customs Specialist) is a plus.  Ability to adapt to changing regulatory and business needs.  Strong organizational and prioritization skills.  Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks.  Experience with electronic foreign trade files and management.  Experience with OEA, CTPAT certification, and IVA & IEPS.  Strong collaboration and teamwork skills.    Our Culture & Commitment to You:
