Organized Retail Crime (ORC) Manager

**Position Purpose:**
The Organized Retail Crime (ORC) Manager is responsible for leading and executing strategic asset protection initiatives related to organized retail crime across multiple regions. This role provides critical investigative support and process oversight, managing high-risk cases, field investigation operations, and cross-functional relationships to reduce shrink and protect company assets.
**Key Responsibilities:**
+ Conduct analysis of current Loss Prevention Merchandising, Operational and related processes to identify shrink and profit loss liability
+ Identify solutions, make recommendations and implement controls to mitigate shrink and profit loss
+ Ensure the integration of Loss Prevention (shrink and profit loss liability) are included as a vital component of all cross functional businesses within the organization
+ Effective communication (verbal and written), both cross-functionally and within Loss Prevention regarding process enhancements or changes
+ Selects, develops, and motivates assigned staff
+ Management responsibilities include leading six salaried ORC investigators, coordinating with internal AP teams, law enforcement (local, state, and federal) and other public sector partners.
+ Conducting in-depth analysis of theft activity and organized crime trends
+ Developing and executing strategic plans to address ORC-related shrink
+ Implementing process improvements and security protocols
+ Selecting, developing, and leading multiple direct reports across multiple regions
**Direct Manager/Direct Reports:**
+ Typically reports to Sr Manager of Asset Protection
+ Accountable for the management of a department or functional group through subordinate supervisors/managers and for all personnel issues -- including selection, termination, performance appraisal and professional development of subordinates.
**Travel Requirements:**
+ Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
**Physical Requirements:**
+ Frequent periods are spent standing or sitting in the same location with some opportunity to move about; occasionally there may be a need to stoop or lift light objects (typically less than 8 pounds).
**Working Conditions:**
+ Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
+ Based in California
+ Typically requires overnight travel 5% to 20% of the time.
**Minimum Qualifications:**
+ Must be eighteen years of age or older.
+ Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
+ Ability to work a flexible schedule
+ 1 year of Home Depot experience
+ 1 year of management or supervisory experience
+ External:
+ 18 years or older
+ Pass the Drug Test
+ Pass the Background Check
+ Ability to work a flexible schedule
+ 2 years of Loss Prevention store management or supervisory experience
+ 7+ years of investigations experience in retail, law enforcement, or asset protection
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills
+ Ability to work flexible hours and travel (up to 20%)
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Master's Degree is preferred
+ Previous experience in a supervisory capacity
+ Supervisory experience in managing teams or investigative operations
+ Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience
+ Strong working relationships with local, state, and federal law enforcement
+ Experience leading ORC or fencing investigations across multiple regions
+ Experience managing projects and initiatives
**Minimum Education:**
+ The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.

+ Demonstrate self-initiative in identifying and resolving issues of theft/fraud and asset protection to improve profit
+ Execution of day to day assignments and commitments
+ Has the ability to set challenging objectives and can communicate clear expectations; demonstrates a clear bias for action and a sense of urgency on priorities; takes ownership of success/failures and processes. Has the ability to operate and drive programs related to the business through proper communication to business partners and direct reports
