Description:IAM Hourly represented employees who currently work at the main (Sunnyvale/Palo Alto) unit, Santa Cruz, VAFB or Eastern Range facilities must apply to open requisitions on Brass Ring to be considered for the position.
This occupation requires the installation, removal, modification, maintenance, checkout and operation of vehicle ordnance systems, mechanical systems, structural components and missile segments and associated test equipment. This includes preliminary and final checkouts, installation, removal, modifications, arming and disarming of ordnance devices pertaining to missile launchings and related functions. Layout and/or establish reference points or stations and align such structural items as Integrated Valve Assemblies, Sequence Valves and Post Boost Control System manifolds. Assemble Thrust Vector Control (TVC) Generators and Gas Hydraulic Actuators (GHAs) and install on motors. Mate missile sections and accomplish all
necessary connections of components.
Basic Qualifications:
Ability to apply a complete knowledge of methods and requirements necessary to prepare vehicle hardware, solid propellant motors and ordnance items for test or flight purposes.
Set up and operate various types of shop and ordnance checkout equipment. Possess a working knowledge of the physical and working characteristics of materials used in vehicle manufacture, propulsion and ordnance.
Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings, procedures, manufacturers manuals, safety regulations and other authorized technical data. Use shop mathematics.
Ability to work at various heights on gantries, vehicles, service towers, high lifts, etc.
May be required to have proper classification of commercial Driver’s License required by the State of Florida to operate material handling equipment normally used by employees in this classification.
Must be able to pass an Ordnance Physical
Must have an ACTIVE DoD SECRET clearance, with the ability to obtain Top Secret
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
